1. Overview

Few parents would want to live without a stroller, which provides the easiest way to get from point A to point B when you're out and about with your baby.

When shopping for a stroller, try to imagine how you'll use it. Do you want a tough model that'll survive several children? A featherweight you can toss into the trunk? A double to carry your toddler and your new baby? If you're not sure what you need to get rolling, check out the various stroller features in this buying guide.

Tip: Lots of families have more than one stroller -- a heavier, more comfortable model for long walks through the neighborhood and (once your baby is at least 6 months old) a light umbrella stroller stashed in the car trunk for errands or outings.
